Cayman Motoring Federation Receives Support from Rotary Central Cayman Islands to Expand STEM Racing Education Programmes
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
The Cayman Motoring Federation (CMF) is proud to announce the generous support of Rotary Central Cayman Islands through a CI$3,000 contribution dedicated to advancing youth education, innovation, and motorsport development through the STEM Racing Supported by F1 programme.
The contribution follows the successful hosting of the first-ever STEM Racing Cayman Islands National Finals, which brought together five high schools from across the Cayman Islands in a celebration of engineering, teamwork, innovation, and competition. The landmark event highlighted the growing impact of STEM Racing in the Cayman Islands and demonstrated the tremendous potential of Caymanian students when provided with hands-on educational opportunities connected to real-world industries
The 2025–2026 STEM Racing season saw participation from John Gray High School, Cayman Prep & High School, Cayman International School, Grace Christian Academy, and Layman E. Scott Sr. High School in Cayman Brac. Throughout the season, students worked collaboratively in teams to design, engineer, manufacture, market, and race miniature F1-style cars while developing skills in STEM, communication, branding, leadership, and project management.
The Cayman Motoring Federation believes the support from Rotary Central Cayman Islands represents more than financial assistance — it is an investment in the future of Cayman’s youth.
“Rotary Central’s support allows us to continue expanding opportunities for young people across the Cayman Islands through STEM education and innovation,” said Jane Scaletta, President of the Cayman Motoring Federation. “The STEM Racing programme is not simply about motorsport. It is about building confidence, teamwork, engineering skills, leadership, and exposing students to future career pathways in technology and innovation. We are incredibly grateful for Rotary Central’s belief in our mission and their commitment to youth development.”
The funding will support the continued growth of the STEM Racing programme in both secondary schools and the planned expansion into primary schools through STEM Racing Discovery initiatives. CMF’s long-term vision is to create a complete educational pathway that introduces students to STEM concepts from an early age while fostering creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills throughout their academic journey.
Through the expansion into primary schools, younger students will have access to introductory STEM Racing programmes designed to make engineering and innovation engaging and accessible in classroom environments. The initiative aligns with CMF’s broader objective of using motorsport as a platform for education, inclusion, and community development.
“Rotary Central is proud to support the Cayman Motoring Federation with a contribution of CI$3,000 toward education and innovation through the STEM Racing Supported by F1 programme,” said Rotary Central Cayman Islands. “Initiatives like this provide Cayman’s young people with meaningful opportunities to develop skills in engineering, technology, teamwork, and leadership while inspiring the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers. We believe programmes such as STEM Racing create lasting impact for our community and align strongly with Rotary’s commitment to youth development and education.”
Following the success of the National Finals, CMF is now preparing for the 2026–2027 STEM Racing season, which will begin in September 2026. The Federation is also continuing efforts to expand access to girls and underrepresented students, increase school participation, and strengthen educational and industry partnerships throughout the Cayman Islands.
The Cayman Motoring Federation remains committed to building a safer, smarter, and more innovative future for Cayman’s youth through motorsport, STEM education, and community engagement.
