Cayman Motoring Federation is going to the FIA Motorsport Games 2024!!

We are excited to share the news that the Cayman Motorsport Federation (CMF) is sending two talented Caymanian esports athletes to compete in the FIA Motorsport Games 2024, to be held in Valencia, Spain, this October. This marks a significant milestone for our federation and showcases the growing influence of esports in the world of motorsport.

 

The nation of motorsport from all continents in a multicategory event GT, Touring car, Formula 4, Racing, Dragging, Slalom, Carting, E-Sport and off road ALL AT THE SAME PLACE AT THE SAME TIME!

Our selected athletes will be representing the Cayman Islands in the esports segment of the FIA Motorsport Games. One athlete will be competing in Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC) GT, while the other will be showcasing their skills in iRacing F4. This presents a unique opportunity for Caymanian esports talent to shine on the international stage.

The FIA Motorsport Games serve as a platform for nations to showcase their prowess across various motorsport disciplines, including esports. We are proud to have our athletes compete alongside the best from around the world, demonstrating the skill, dedication, and sportsmanship that define Caymanian esports.

As our athletes gear up for the competition, we urge our community to show their support and encouragement. Let us rally behind our representatives as they chase their dreams and proudly represent the Cayman Islands in the world of esports.

Ian Lance Charlery

Competing at FIA MSG in: F4

Ian Charlery, a 39-year-old sim racing enthusiast, found his passion for racing reignited during the pandemic. With a background in drag racing and autocross in his 20s and countless hours spent on Gran Turismo as a kid, Ian seamlessly transitioned to virtual circuits, racing GT3 cars on Assetto Corsa Competizione and now competing in Formula cars on iRacing. Known for his focus on consistency rather than outright speed, Ian’s approach to sim racing is a blend of patience, precision, and a deep understanding of racing dynamics. Off the track, he remains a devoted motorsports fan, exploring the rich history and future of racing both virtually and in the real world.

Karyll Iton

Competing in FIA MSG in: GT

Karyll is a 45 year old competitor from the Cayman Islands who has been Sim Racing for about 3 years. Having had a life long passion for motorsports, he has attended the Panoz Race School at the Sebring Raceway, had an Sports Car Club of America regional competition license, done High Performance Driving Events with the National Auto Sport Association in Florida and is a former local Autocross champion. Currently racing in Assetto Corsa Competizione via Low Fuel Motorsports, he has a podium rate of 11% with 3 poles and a race win in 75 starts. He currently holds a Silver plus license on the platform.
